Olde World concrete stone, tile, bricks, cobblestones, and pavers are cementitious-based, hand-made, custom-colored products with an average compressive strength of 4,000 to 6,000+ pounds per square inch.  They can be used in both the residential and commercial building markets for both interior and exterior applications.  Some people refer to these products as cement or concrete.  In fact, cement is just one of the ingredients in concrete, along with sand, agregate, and possibly additives and color.

These concrete products will last virtually forever.  The coloring technology and method that we recommend using makes the color integral.  In other words, the color in our stone and tile goes all the way through the product.  As a comparison, with most ceramic tile, the color consists of a very thin coat of glass on the surface of the tile.  Once worn through, the clay body of the tile shows through.  With some stone products, the colors are painted on the surface, so they wear and fade.  Not ours! 

Other manufactured stone in the marketplace have the color actually just "painted" on the surface of the mold prior to production.  Again, the surface will eventually wear, exposing plain gray concrete. With our coloring system being integrally mixed into the concrete of the stone, tile, pavers, bricks, and other products that our Producers make, the color cannot wear off.  It goes throughout the body of the product.  Even when the stone or tile is cut, the same color is exposed inside... as outside.

With the concrete coloring oxides we recommend using, which are measured down to the gram, the color is unaffected... even by harsh climates.  That benefit, and the product's natural skid-resistant quality, make it an excellent choice for external  applications like pool areas, driveways, walks, exterior walls, etc.  It is also resistant to salts and other ice-melting chemicals, and performs very well in freeze-thaw environments due in part to our proprietary mix additive package.  These benefits make our manufactured concrete products excellent choices for even the harshest climates.

Producers of our concrete products have the ability to custom-color the tile and stone to match virtually anything their customer wishes to match.  This is a benefit not available with most other materials.  Our stone, tile, pavers,  and bricks can be matched years down the road should a customer wish to add to an existing installation.  This usually cannot be done with other flooring material!

Most of our Producers offer a minimum twenty-year warranty on the tile and stone products that they manufacture.  Others offer fifty years.  True life expectancy... 100 years plus!  Look at the walking surfaces at all of the Disney Amusement Parks.  Most of them are made from the same material, and in the same or similar manner as our stone and tile products.
